3 time cross country champion Lucy Walsh is expected to be in attendance for the 5k challenge in Beaumont Park in Blackrock tomorrow morning. Lucy retired from track and field at the tender age of 14 to focus her efforts on a 4 year plan to procure a place in the highly esteemed faculty of Dentistry in UCC making an absolute mockery of one member's 14 year plan to do the same! An all but undefeated glittering career saw her famously come runner up in her last ever race to her youger sister Jacinta who afterwards refused to stand on the podium as she raged that Lucy let her win! With Team Gavin in some amount of bodily distress it is with great honour that Miss Lucy joins the brigade! Speaking from his hot tub in Blarney, Gavin emphasised his dedication to the team despite suffering a broken thumb while delivering sub gingival scaling at a recent perio session in the CUH and is unable to partake in the event, 'its great that other people are getting involved and I will be there to cheer them on and hopefully get my mitts on some tea and cake afterwards cos ill be starving'. It has also been suggested that the grandfather of Operative Technique in Dentistry, Brian Desmond will also make an appearance! Indeed the same man who made his fortune by inventing the mens sportsbra in 1997 before turning his attention to the dental undergraduate program 2008 has been off the grog now for over a month and was likened to an absolute animal by one of the bar staff in Tom Barrys on Wednesday night!
